Goal

Correct the status of a Closed (locked) routine repair, for example to reopen it because the problem came back. The correction rewrites the status, but requires a mandatory reason and is logged.

Audience

Administrator only. Other members do not see the statuses that force the lock.

Prerequisites

  • The repair has the Closed status. On a repair that is still open, every status is offered normally, without a correction.
  • Be an administrator.

Steps

  1. Open the closed repair and click "Edit".

  2. Open the "Status" menu: the other statuses are preceded by an arrow ⤺ (for example "⤺ In progress"). Choose the status you want.

  3. A "Reason for the correction" field (required) appears below the menu, with the hint "Why was this status wrong?". Enter the justification.

Closed repair: status "⤺ In progress" chosen and "Reason for the correction" field.

  4. Click "Save". The message "Status corrected and logged" appears.

Rewritten AND logged

The correction changes the status, but the trace (old status, new status, author, date and reason) is kept in the "History" tab under "Status corrected (admin)".

Tips and common mistakes

  • Reason required: without a reason, the correction is refused.
  • Same mechanism elsewhere: the admin correction also exists on finished interventions and on major repairs and replacements (see Force a locked status).
